As a result of a prolonged lack of precipitation coupled with an abundance dry fuel on the ground brought on by the fall season, our local risk of wildfire is at an extremely high level. As such there will be no open burning in the town of Sherman until further notice. Smokers - please dispose of cigarette butts in a fire safe container not on the ground or out of your car window.
