The Benefits of an Anti-Inflammatory Diet

Join us as the Sherman Library offers The Benefits of an Anti-Inflammatory Diet, presented by Michele MacDonnell on Wednesday, January 22nd at 6:00 p.m. on Zoom.

 

Learn about the benefits of incorporating anti-inflammatory foods into your diet presented by Michele MacDonnell, Registered Dietitian Nutritionist.  This talk will focus on simple strategies for incorporating anti-inflammatory foods into your diet, as well as which foods should be limited.  We will discuss the benefits of a plant-based diet and review the Mediterranean diet guidelines.  Tips for mindful eating, and also the importance of not just what we eat, but how we eat will be discussed.  Loving local foods will be a theme throughout the presentation, as well as taking the guilt out of eating and learning to feel good about nourishing our bodies.  

 

Michele MacDonnell, RDN, CDN received her degree in Nutrition Sciences from Penn State University and completed her dietetic internship through Aramark corporation.  Michele has been working as a Registered Dietitian for the past 25 years and has experience in the fields of critical care, oncology, pediatrics, nutrition support, and diabetes education.  Michele currently works as the Clinical Nutrition Manager at New Milford Hospital where she manages inpatient nutrition care, outpatient nutrition counseling, and is involved with the Plow to Plate program which promotes locally grown foods.  Michele holds a certificate of training in pediatric weight management and works with many community programs, including senior suppers, the Walking Project at the Sarah Noble school, and the Northville school plant patch.
