Sherman Roadside and Community Clean Up Day Mallory Town Hall Lower Lot- April 26, 2025- 9:00 am – 1:00 pm Please join your neighbors, friends, and family to keep Sherman beautiful by picking up roadside litter. Vests, trash bags and disposable gloves are available at Town Hall on April 17 &18 and April 24 & 25 2025
Roadside Trash –from town roads should be brought to the dumpster at Mallory Town Hall Lower Parking Lot on April 26. Garbage from state roads (Routes 55, 39, and 37) should be left roadside for D.O.T. to pick up on April 28.
Bulky Waste – All American Waste is once again donating a dumpster for bulky waste for Sherman residents. Please bring proof of residence. DO NOT bring hazardous materials (there is a separate free Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day in the fall). No construction debris. No paint. Please do not dump anything outside of the set hours. There are surveillance cameras.
E-Waste- New Milford Recycling Center, run by Three Veterans LLC, will be accepting electronic waste at no charge (telephones, fax machines, computers, printers, keyboards, TVs, video games, radios, car batteries, cell phones, vcrs, etc). They are accepting small appliances containing Freon e.g. dehumidifiers/ac units for $25 per item, normally $35.
Scrap Metal Collection - Acceptable items: BBQ grills, metal file cabinets, washing machines, dishwashers, basic appliances (no Freon), electric motors, car frames, metal siding, lawn mowers (empty of gas), brake drums, engine blocks, copper wire, roof flashing, ladders, brass fittings and railings, old bicycles, etc. DO NOT bring: propane tanks, gas cylinders, anything with hazardous materials.
Returnable Bottles/Cans – The Sherman Cub Scouts Pack 84 will take rinsed-out plastic or aluminum bottles and cans that are returnable for deposit. All proceeds go to community service projects.
