Join us at the Sherman Library as we host, Probate and You: An Overview of the Probate Court and Estate Administration Process, presented by attorney Lynda Lee Arnold on Wednesday, November 13th at 6:00 p.m.

For many people the word “probate” triggers fear or anxiety of what the process to come may be like. But that does not necessarily have to be your experience! The probate process largely depends on your specific situation, and of course, is helped by being prepared and educated about the estate administration process. In this session, Attorney Lynda Arnold will ease some of the apprehension associated with probate by walking your through how probate works in Connecticut.  Additionally, she will explain who takes charge of a Will after someone dies, what happens if someone dies without a Will, how to avoid a lengthy probate process, and how tools such as a living trust can help avoid probate. And finally, you’ll learn about some of the potential pitfalls in the process and how careful planning can avoid them.

Attorney Lynda Lee Arnold is a senior partner at Czepiga Daly Pope & Perri with offices in Berlin, Madison, New Milford, Simsbury and South Windsor. The practice specializes in estate planning, elder law, probate and special needs planning.

This program is free and is offered in person at the Sherman Library. For more information and to register contact the library at slprograms@biblio.org.
