The Gerard Duo Concert

Join the Sherman Library for a performance by The Gerard Duo featuring Charley and Eva Gerard on Saturday, May 18th at 11:00 a.m.

 

The Sherman Library is pleased to welcome the Gerard Duo for a performance at the Library. This father-daughter duo of Charley Gerard (alto sax) and Eva Gerard (viola) will perform jazz arrangements of American songbook favorites and pieces by Telemann, Bach, and Charley Gerard.

 

Eva Gerard attended Juilliard, receiving undergraduate and graduate degrees there and subsequently received a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from CUNY. She has performed with several New York chamber and orchestral ensembles at Carnegie Hall and at the Fisher Center at Bard. 

Charley Gerard is a 2019 recipient of the prestigious New Jazz Works grant from Chamber Music America with the generous support of the Doris Duke Foundation. Gerard founded The Broken Reed Saxophone Quartet in 2002. He is a prolific composer and arranger, and holds a graduate degree in ethnomusicology from Columbia University.
