Zoning Board of Appeals



Mission Statement

The Zoning Board of Appeals is empowered by the General Statutes of the State of Connecticut to hear, consider, and decide upon:

  1. Applications requesting a variance of zoning regulations due to “exceptional difficulty or unusual hardship”.
  2. Appeals claiming that an error occurred in any order, requirement, or decision of a zoning enforcement officer (ZEO).
  3. All other matters that the zoning regulations specifically require it to consider, such as special permits, exceptions, and exemptions.
