Resident State Trooper
Mission
Statement
The Resident State Trooper program is designed to bring personalized police
service to the Town of Sherman. The Resident Trooper is a law enforcement
professional who provides an immediate, direct link to the Troop Commander
and to all services provided within the Connecticut State Police
Department. The program has a
demonstrated history of providing the most professional and economical police
service to the towns of Connecticut.
Program benefits include access to the Trooper
Field Force, Aviation Unit, SWAT Unit, Canine Unit, Bomb Unit, Narcotics
Unit, Forensic Lab, DWI Squads, Detective Unit, and Polygraph Unit to name a
few.
Trooper First Class Robert Burke is a 18-year plus
veteran of the Connecticut State Police.
He was a previous Resident State Trooper in the Town of Oxford and was in the Governor’s
Security unit for 11 years.
Trooper Burke graduated from State University of New York at Brockport.
